Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Show mom how much you love her this Mother’s Day by giving her two homemade gifts from the heart.  Creating a gift with your own two hands is a sweet way to say “I love you” to all the special moms in your life.  Your empty Robert Rothschild Farm jars can easily be up-cycled into flower vases and faux mercury glass candle holders.  Show mom how much she means to you by creating our DIY up-cycled Mother’s Day gifts this weekend.

Up-cycling Made Simple: Flower Vase

Step 1: Wash empty jar in warm soapy water
Step 2: Soak jar in hot soapy water until label begins to peel away from the jar {about an hour}
Step 3: Use a wash cloth to remove remaining adhesive residue
Step 4: Fill the clean jar with water and add freshly picked flowers


Up-cycling Made Simple: Faux Mercury Glass Candle Holders



  • Clean Robert Rothschild Farm glass jar(s) {see above for how to remove product label}
  • Spray bottle filled with water
  • Mirror paint
  • Newspaper & Tape
  • Rack for drying


Work on a protected surface in a well-ventilated area.

Step 1: Cover the exterior of the jar with newspaper and secure with tape. Place extra newspaper under the drying rack.

Step 2: Lightly mist interior of jar with water and then spray evenly with mirror paint.

Step 3: Turn jar upside down on the drying rack and let dry overnight. Repeat a second time if too sheer.

Step 4: Place a votive inside the jar.
